About Our Football Program
Mount Douglas Rams
Our football program was started in 1996 by Coach Roy Vollinger and our teams play in the AAA West division of the BC Secondary Schools Football Association league. Since 2008, over 60 Mount Douglas student athletes have gone on to play University Football in Canada or the United States, with 7 of those players also going on to the CFL. The Mount Douglas Rams Football Program continues to be among the elite sports programs in British Columbia and the place to play High School Football in Greater Victoria.
Our mission is built around the personal development, academic development and football development of our student athletes. We strive to motivate our young players to be exceptionally high performers on and off the field. Success is being the best that you can be in everything you do and always wanting to get better...that is the Ram Way!

Our Success
Historic Football Highlights
Over the past 13 years, the Rams have won 9 Provincial Championships, 6 titles at the Varsity level and 3 titles at Junior Varsity, and established Mount Douglas as the premier High School Football Program and among the most successful High School Athletic Programs ever on the Island. In 2013, Mount Douglas was honoured as the #1 High School Football Team in all of Canada, after finishing #3 in 2012 and #4 in 2011, (and #7 in 2015 and 2018).
In 2019, the Mount Douglas Junior Varsity Rams captured the AAA Junior Varsity Provincial Championship with a 41 to 21 victory over Lord Tweedsmuir. The Rams defeated a very talented Tweedsmuir team, which makes the win a tremendous accomplishment on the big stage of B.C. Place Stadium. The Provincial Title gave the JV team a perfect 11-0 record for the 2019 season.
